Christmas

Although this Christmas season was filled with every day anxiety of moving, we did take time out as much as we could to make it a fun and memorable Christmas. About a week before Christmas, we let the kids open up a special early present that contained a play house. It took a minute for the kids to realize that the big gift this year would be a new house that would come in just a few weeks.

We experienced quite the Who-vilation at our church Christmas party as our kids got to meet the real live Grinch (our stake President). Santa also made an appearance and fortunately the Grinch did not ruin the celebration.

On Christmas Eve, our focus was on the birth of our Savior as the kids reenacted the nativity, dressing as Mary, a shepard boy and an angel.

On Christmas morning, there were plenty of smiles to go around as Santa had delivered the goods to our good little boy and girls.

The girls were also thrilled that Aunt Lauren had been delivered to our house on Christmas Eve.

The kids had prepared special gifts for her.

Ellie had worked hard on her first sewing project (a pillowcase) and was giddy to give it Lauren on Chrismas day.

Ellie was so proud and happy to make something special for her Auntie.

Kyler spent much of the morning sporting his batman suit and toting a little Batman to go with it.

After we opened all the presents, we took the girls down to the basement for one last present from their Papa and Grammy....new bikes for everyone! This is the first time any of our kids have had new bikes as their bikes had always come second hand. They were ecstatic!

As we had our first "brown Christmas" in quite some time with temps in the 50s, the kids were able to go right outside to ride their bikes around the neighborhood. It was the perfect Christmas for bikes because they actually were able to ride them quite a bit this winter! Thanks Papa and Grammy!
