"Mom, so what do you think the actual temperature is out here. I mean what's the number?" questions Aubrie as we walked from door to door.
"It's 59 degrees," I respond.
"I really like 59 degrees."
"Yes, I love 59 degrees for Halloween too!"
That is the best summary of our Halloween. No Mall of America Trick or Treating this year. Not only did we stay in our neighborhood, but we joined our neighbors for a bonfire afterward. It was a mighty rare treat to spend Halloween like that in Minnesota. Hooray for 59 degrees!
We grew all three pumpkins in our garden: a big, medium and small. Just perfect for us!
Aubrie counted all three kids' candy and came up with a grand total of 243 pieces. Not bad! Now, let's hope that doesn't equal the amount of pounds added to Mommy's backside.
Teyah started a fever on Halloween, and this morning I measured it to be 106.1. What!!? Have any of you even heard of anyone having such a high temperature? After two trips to the doctor and many horrible tests, apparently it's viral. Poor, poor little pumpkin. She hasn't left my lap in two days.
Ellie is growing up. Our little snow princess received her first haircut from a salon this week which included bangs. She was the most excited to realize that she has bangs like her doll "Sophie."
"Mom, now Sophie looks exactly like me!"
Now for Ellie's impressive number. I was pleasantly surprised she wasn't shy at all while she did her little Halloween dance performance or her Joy School songs. Hooray Ellie!

What a great post! Elliana looks SO grown up in that picture! And you can tell her I'm so proud of her for dancing so well in her program. We had beautiful halloween weather too. Josh and I were comfortable in our t-shirts and no one had to wear coats. It was lucky for our Halloween Princess (Elizabeth) because I have been preparing her all month for the fact that she might have to wear the cat costume (think Old-Navy style) if it was cold on Halloween. She was so glad to be a princess for trick or treating! What ARE we going to do with all that candy? Your line about your backside was clever. I think I already have too much of ours stuck to mine! Love you!
HOW CUTE is that video!!!
About the fever thing...not to scare you...but Micah had a febral seizure cuz his temp got that high SUPER fast! I really hope she feels better soon (and again, that I didn't freak you out)!!!
Like Heather said - we enjoyed the beautiful weather here in Nebraska too! Kris even dressed up ( In Josh's Donald Duck costume by the way ) so you will have to check out our blog because I plan on posting pictures! I'm so sorry about Teyah - is she doing better now? Jordan got a decent fever when he was 1 1/2 with a pnemonia. The doctor kept telling me that it was viral but when it didn't go away after 4-5 days I finally asked if we could at least TRY antibiotics. The doctor consented and his fever broke that night - so you never know! If you feel like she's not getting better it never hurts to ask :)
Oh Jeni - your girls are so beautiful! It is so fun to see them growing up and they all seem to have not only different physical characteristics, but such different personalities as well! Makes me excited to start our brood! You and Dave certainly are blessed! - BFF in Seattle
I am so proud of Ellie. she is going to be an amazing dancer just like Aubrie! Actually, why are we surprised when those little girls perform on a daily basis in their living room! Your little punkin is the sweetest! I loved her costume.
Those are impressive numbers. We just barely had a whole week (I think) under the 100's. That is nice. At least the evenings are cool. Cute kids, as always :)!
